This document gives step by step instructions for how to download and install GlobalProtect VPN for Mac desktops.

Important
If you have Duo Multi-Factor Authentication on your account, your preferred DUO method will be used without the normal Duo prompt that allows you to select your method; so, if you have mobile push configured, you will simply get a notification on your mobile device to approve. The client will not give you any indication that this happened.
We are working with OIT to improve this behavior; however, for technical reasons there is not currently a more user-friendly solution.
What materials do I need?
- Mac computer
- Internet Connection
- University of Alaska login credentials
How do I use this technology?
How to Download
- In web browser go to https://uaa.vpn.alaska.edu.
- Login using your UA credentials.
- Click the Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect Agent link.
- A download confirmation will appear on your screen, click Allow.
How to Install
- After the download completes, double-click the downloaded GlobalProtect.pkg installer package.
- At the Welcome to GlobalProtect Setup Wizard screen, click continue.
- At the Select Installation Folder screen, keep the default folder, and click Continue
- At the Installation Type screen click Install.
- You will be prompted to enter your computer's local administrator username & password.
- After installation is complete click close.
